Spring is going to get a kick-start this year in Maggie Valley come April 23-25 when thousands of bikers roll into town for the Thunder in the Smokies Spring Motorcycle Rally. You might want to forgo mowing the lawn that weekend and head over to the Festival Grounds where you can see American Idol Finalist, Amanda Overmyer, entertaining guests Saturday night. All ages are welcome and the activities are plentiful. Tour rides, a bike show, bike games, and much more can be expected during this three-day rally. Vendors with today's latest must haves in motorcycles, apparel and more will be on hand along with bike builders from across the region to show off their latest creations. Friday night's entertainment includes the world renown Alabama Blues Brothers performing their exciting tribute act of the famous Blues Brothers. Don't miss the fire dancers on Friday and Saturday nights as they show off their thrilling daredevil fire techniques. Get a weekend pass and don't miss any of the activities. Over $1000 in cash will be given out alone on Saturday! So come early and enjoy the three-day event. Gates open at 11 am on Friday, 9 am on Saturday and Sunday.
