Maggie Valley Winter Weather Update

For those heading to the area in the next few days please be prepared for difficult travel conditions. At our home (3500') we have almost 1 foot of snow and it is still coming down. We are under a Winter Storm Warning through 6pm today and under a Winter Storm Watch for a new storm coming in tomorrow evening. The new storm looks to bring up to 8 inches of new snow. Again, if you are driving to our area please proceed with caution. 4 wheel drive may work great where you live, but it is no match for a foot of snow and ice on a steep mountain road. Be smart and stay safe!

Great Quote for the Day!

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life and they lost it all - security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free."

-Edward Gibbon The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
