Summer is coming to an end, which means wrapping up vacations & getting ready for going back to school. For those of you who are back home in Haywood County, or those who are here in the WNC Mountains for a last minute getaway, here are some events going on this weekend.
- HART presents 'All My Sons' The classic play, written by Arthur Miller, will continue it's run at the HART Theatre in Waynesville this week. There will be performances this week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. For showtimes & tickets, visit their website here.
- 2016 Annual Fines Creek Bluegrass and BBQ Festival If you like good music & good food, this is the event for you this week! This 2-night event will be held outdoors at the Old Fines Creek School this weekend, August 12 & 13, so bring some blankets & camping chairs and enjoy your weekend. The festivities will include music from local musicians, and performances from the Fines Creek Flatfooters & the Southern Appalachian Cloggers. - Inaugural Tri-County Shrine Club's 4-Wheel Drive and Rat Rod Sponsored by Skyland Automotive & The Town of Canton, this event will be held at Camp Hope in Canton this Saturday, August 13, starting at 10am. - 'BBQ FUR You' Fundraiser Head on down to Mad Anthony's Bottle Shop & Beer Garden on Saturday evening to help raise money for FUR. FUR is an organization that rescues homeless cats and kittens and houses them in their 2,600 square foot sanctuary in Waynesville. There will be live music, BBQ, raffles, & fun for all ages from 5-8pm on August 13.
